Staff

Paul the Pieman bakeries are synonymous with good food, good service and a remarkable commitment to people and place. Paul the Pieman’s commitment to training is underpinned by the philosophy that “our people are our point of difference”. Robyn and Paul take pride in their work and their team. The strong “family” atmosphere is evident from the moment you walk through the front door. The aura surrounding the satisfied and happy team is almost as tangible as the aroma of fresh baked bread.

Our friendly staff are well trained and will make your trip to our bakery an enjoyable one. Our secret isn't new, greet the customer with a friendly smile and give them what they want. All our staff have gained food safety handlers accredit icons. We currently employ over 50 local people. They are always more than happy to share their knowledge of the local area to make your trip to Gippsland thoroughly enjoyable!

Training

An average of up to approximately 12 hours per month is allocated for formal and authentic learning and training for each team member. This can include theory classes for 1st aid, food handling and food safety to one on one sessions with their trainer.

Team members also have the opportunity to do external training in Melbourne or Sale where our external training provider has kitchens, restaurants, canteens and library resources to assist. Our external training provider also has an outreach centre in most areas and trainees/apprentices are able to use this resource as a study area if required.
